Maria Brewer has qualified to run for State Senate in District 18 -- the sole Democrat to qualify to date, she will face one of 6 Republicans running for the seat.
Earlier reports had suggested a possible Democratic primary matchup between Brewer and former County Clerk Jimmy England. But England, 85, will not make the race out of health concerns.
