Sumner Democrats plan events
The Gallatin and Hendersonville Christmas parades are this weekend, and the SCDP is joining the parade. Wave to the crowd and pass out some bubble gum! Muster in Gallatin at 11:30 on Steam Plant Road (follow the signs) on Saturday Dec. 5th, and in Hendersonville at 2:00 at Memorial Park and Hazel Path on Sunday Dec. 6th. Please wear your SCDP gear, your Charles Ihrig campaign shirt, or festive holiday attire. For more details, contact Charles Ihrig at 838-2027.
The Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is a multi-county, regional planning agency is working closely with local planners and community leaders to develop a plan that addresses growth for the next 25 years. They will be holding a workshop as part of the Tri-County Transportation Land Use Study on Thursday, Dec. 3, Hendersonville Public Library, 140 Saundersville Rd. – Meeting is 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with presentation at 5:30 p.m. Come learn a little, shape the future, and enjoy some light refreshments! MHMS Speech Team Takes 3rd at Dickson
The Merrol Hyde Magnet School Speech Team competed in the Dickson County High School Tournament on November 21st. The team placed 3rd out of 25 schools in attendance. Individual first place winners included Joey Meyer, Extemporaneous Speaking and Impromptu Speaking and Zach Young/Spencer Dyer in Improvisational Duo. Other winners included Jessica Hall, 2nd place in Prose Interpretation; Christie Thiessen, 3rd place in Impromptu Speaking, Carol Miselem and Katie McVey, 6th place Duo Interpretation and Geoffrey Pears, 6th place Extemporaneous Speaking.
